While the Blues claiming victory for Game 1 of Origin wasn’t the win Queenslanders were looking for, ‘Field of Play – Rugby League’ left all visitors of The Star Sydney feeling like footy stars regardless.
During the hype of Origin 1 on Wednesday, May 31st, visitors to The Star Sydney were given the opportunity to stand within a virtual stadium with 40,000 screaming fans cheering on their game-play, as part of experiential agency Lightweave’s immersive Rugby League Virtual Reality experience ‘Field of Play.’
The experience allowed fans to ‘Become the player’ in an immersive Virtual Reality rugby experience, each player having 60 seconds to score as many game points as possible.
Rugby League is just one of the variations for Lightweave’s Licensable Collection – ‘Field of Play’, with options existing for the game play to be in either Rugby, AFL or NFL.
Field of Play Rugby League VR is now available to license.
